Yes, there are a few:

It's easy.. write me a mail and state somehow that your name is realy "Trovatelli". Write me which mailname you would like to have and as long this name is available (obviously "Giovanni" is not available...) I will open your account

First the cost: I do not charge costs at the moment. Since I use a very cheap way (this webpage for example is for free, the domain is for 5 dollars a year and the mail is from Google and also free) I can afford to share the mail. However if there are dramatic changes. But so say: Since 1997 we have a page and till now it was for free...
second: the technical stuff ... The mail is hosted by Google... means you can use the webmail (so you can use it everywhere in the world) or you can download the mails via POP/SMTP/iPhone.....
Mos timportant: Privacy. Even I am the admin of the site, I CAN NOT READ YOUR MAILS or change your settings.... you are also fully responsible for your account, means when you forget the password then I can reset your account.. but you will loose all mails. So you see the privacy is guaranteed.
